Since the opening of our Cawthra Avenue brewery, Junction Craft has brewed over 120 recipes, from our Core Brands to Local Option Seasonals, Destructor high-gravity beers and a broad range of other styles.

Core Brands

Conductor’s Craft Ale

We used 5 malt and five hop varieties from Europe and North America to give Conductor’s a biscuity, toasted, caramel base, and a dry and bitter taste with a light bitter finish. Floral and citrus notes come from our hopback mechanism that infuses the hop aromas into the beer in line from the kettle as the beer goes into the fermenter. Conductor’s Craft Ale is inspired by traditional ales that “traveled well” when life was more about the journey than the destination.

Engineer’s IPA

Showcasing four American West Coast hops and four English and Canadian malts, Engineer’s is an IPA that’s bold, complex and finely balanced. Citrus and tropical fruit aromas are accented by pine-scented hops, and dry hopping promotes hop aromas without adding bitterness. Engineer’s is an ale that’s been built to stand the test of time, whether exploring by rail or on the open sea.

Tracklayer’s Kolsch

Tracklayer’s Kolsch is our take on the classic style that has been brewed in and around Cologne, Germany for the last 100 years. Pale, dry and traditionally lagered, Tracklayer’s balances a light fruitiness with biscuity malt notes, delivering a smooth, highly drinkable beer. Brewed with imported malt to a light straw colour, this is a beer that comes from a place where an honest day’s work is an opportunity and its reward is well earned.

Local Option Series

The Local Option Series pays tribute to the hardworking roots of the Junction. Every season, we make styles that suit the time of year and then name them after local Junction streets and historic landmarks.

Junction Road Black Lager

A Gold Medal winner at the 2017 Canadian Brewing Awards, Junction Road Black Lager is a dark German lager that balances roasted yet smooth malt flavours with moderate hop bitterness. A style known as Schwarzbier (‘black beer’) in Germany, Junction Road Black Lager features 3 Canadian and German malts and 4 Noble hops for a clean lager character.

Destructor Series

Named for our new home, originally known as the Symes Road Destructor, this is our series of high-gravity beers. Barrel-aged Destructor Series beers are substantial, from their intense flavour to their higher alcohol content.

#1 Destructor Imperial Black Ale

Destructor Imperial Black Ale is dark in colour (of course), with prominent Northwest hop aromas of citrus and pine. The body has some sweet malt flavours, with hints of roastiness and toasted malt. The flavour gains smoothness from ageing in red wine barrels.

Derail Series

Our Derail Series includes the traditional Berlinerweisse and other sour beer styles, and often benefit from additions of fruit purées. With roots in Belgian “wild yeast” brewing and German regional styles, kettle souring is a popular method of bringing beers down to a lower pH level.

Hoppercar Series

Focusing on hop-forward ales, the Hoppercar Series is truly for lupulin lovers. Whether making use of established new- or old-world hop varieties or the latest experimental strains, Hoppercar Series beers are full of flavour and best consumed at their freshest.

British Rail Series

Britain’s brewing and railway heritage are second to none, and our British Rail Series pays homage to the quintessential styles. Whether it’s a bitter, a mild, or a brown ale, simplicity and balance are everything when it comes to beer from one of the great brewing nations.

Achterbahn Series

Achterbahn is the German word for roller coaster, and our Achterbahn Series beers recognize classic German styles with a few added twists and turns along the way. These range from the lighter Weisse beer to darker Bocks and even some German-inspired IPAs.

Beer Engine Series

Served in pubs for centuries, the archetypal British beer style is cask-conditioned (or “real”) ale. Unfiltered, still active on the yeast, and ideally served at cellar temperature, our Beer Engine Series ales take many of our draught styles to another, more traditional level.
